Hyaluronic acid fillers

A fresh and youthful appearance depends largely on the levels of hydration in the skin and body. With age, natural hydration becomes less efficient, and muscles, bone and skin begin to thin. As a result, the face loses volume, the skin begins to sag and crease and lips loose their former plumpness.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance in the human body that maintains skin hydration by attracting water. When used in a dermal filler, it becomes an invaluable aesthetic tool for restoring lost hydration and reducing signs of ageing.

Injectable hyaluronic acid is a dissolvable and temporary dermal filler. It can be used to:

  • reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and facial folds
  • create structure and add volume to the eye area, cheeks, nose, jawline and chin, and
  • replace volume in the lips.

You will see immediate results after a hyaluronic acid filler treatment. These effects will become more pronounced over the following two to four weeks as the fillers absorb water from the body. Note: For this reason, it is important to drink enough water.

The results will normally last around 12-18 months.

  • You may experience some mild discomfort, bruising and swelling.
  • We will usually ask you to a complimentary review appointment 14 days after your treatment.
  • As with any injection procedure, facial filler treatment carries risks. These include allergic reaction at the injection site or throughout the body, swelling and inflammation, mild pain, bleeding or bruising at the injection site, infection, scarring, irregularities in the surface contours and firmness of the skin and, rarely, blood vessel damage
