Eye augmentation (Tear trough filler)

Typical concerns about the eye area include hollowness and sunken eyes, wrinkles, crow’s feet, pigmentation (dark circles), dullness, puffiness and bags under the eyes.

Traditional tear trough filler adds plumpness and volume to sunken eyes and significantly reduces dark circles and wrinkles.

Results:

You will see some results as soon as the treatment is finished. The full effects will develop over the next four weeks. The results will normally last around 9-12 months.

Note:

We perform this procedure under local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort.

  1. This treatment takes 30- 45 minutes, which includes a detailed consultation with your doctor.
  2. First, we make a small number of local anaesthetic injections into the eye area.
  3. We then place small amounts of dissolvable hyaluronic acid facial filler into the area around the eyes. This is done using a small cannula.
  1. You may experience minor bruising and/or swelling. This should go away in a day or two.
  2. It is advisable not to apply makeup to the treated area for 24 hours or so.
  3. Over the next four weeks, try not to apply strong pressure to the area around your eye.
  4. Drink 1-2 litres of water a day for optimum results.
  5. For ongoing maintenance, we recommend a repeat session as needed (approximately every 9 months).

Tear trough filler should not be used if the under-eye area lacks elasticity, or if you have bags under the eyes.

Fillers should also be avoided in the under-eye area if it:

  • already has sufficient volume (will look overfilled), or
  • does not have excellent lymph drainage (leads to puffiness).

Note:

In these cases, your doctor may recommend polynucleotide treatment for the eyes.
